MATERIALS

All our of vanity units are handcrafted using the following carefully selected materials:

TULIPWOOD & BEECH

Is a fine grained hard wood, it's invariably knot free which allows for an almost flawless finish to the legs and frame work of all our painted cabinetry. The turned legs on our painted units, for example The Stow and The Henley are made from solid beech.

SOLID OAK

Sustainably sourced, our solid oak is FSC certified prime grade which means it has very few knots and is stunning to look at. Our oak is coated with a subtle chalky hard wax oil to give a level of protection. We use solid oak for the framework, legs, doors (with the exception of the panels), plinths and drawer fronts on our oak vanity units. All of the drawer boxes on our vanity units (with the exception of the counter top wall hung vanity units) are made from solid oak.

OAK VENEER

Is chosen for the end panels, door panels, grooved and internal shelving on our oak cabinetry, it's known for its stable properties so is more suited to a bathroom environment, especially across larger surface areas.

MOISTURE RESITANT MDF

Is chosen for our the end panels, grooved shelving, drawer fronts and cabinet doors on our painted vanity units - purely for longevity in the humid temperatures. Our moisture resistant MDF is green in colour, incredibly dense and amongst the best quality available on the market (nothing like you'd typically find in a DIY store!)

JOINERY

Our cabinetry is handcrafted to order in England using a blend of traditional and modern joinery technqiues.  We use mortise and tenon joints for all of our frameworks, incorporating pocket hole joinery to ensure robust fixings - our furniture is built to last! Our drawers are made from solid oak and are joined using time honoured dovetailed joints and feature our embossed 'Holly Oak House' branding inside the drawers.
